Matt "Two Hundo" Emrich
Matt (Two hundo) Emrich
As a firefighter, adventurer, and mental health advocate, Matt understands the importance of reliable gear in the most demanding conditions. His passion for the outdoors has taken him from rugged backcountry trails to summiting peaks in several countries. An avid rock climber and long-distance hiker, he thrives on pushing his limits in the wild.
Matt serves as a special resource rock climber for the Search and Rescue vertical rescue team. He also deploys to wildland fires as part of a Rapid Extrication Module Support (REMS) team- a unit that specializes in extracting injured firefighters and personnel from rugged or hazardous terrain.
His greatest adventure partner is his wife Gretchen, who shares in his love for exploring the outdoors. On social media they can be found under the handle of “undercoverdirtbags”, where they encourage others to know that they can be a professional by day, and a dirtbag by weekend. Matt and Gretchen’s homebase is in the Black Hills of South Dakota, but they can usually be found traveling the country in their van.
